So we were up, loaded and on the road by 9:30. We stopped for gas in Florence and then headed up the road to Pacific City. We made good time and no swaying on the road. We took our Rubbermaid container of rocks and a bucket of rocks, plus the dehumidifier and some bottled water added enough weight in the front to balance out the bikes in the back. Hopefully it will work when we head the rest of the way home.
We are staying at the Hart’s RV Camp beside the Cape Kiwanis RV camp. It is a very nice park that has RV sites as well as a bunch of tiny home and airstream trailers that you can rent. There are not many people in our camp and we are near the back corner. Nobody beside us so when we left Lukie in the trailer while we went for dinner nobody could hear him bark until he settled down.
We got set up in our site quite easily, Len backed in the first time and our levelling is getting easier now that we have the slides figures out. We got everything unpacked and straightened out and then decided to go for a drive to check out the area. We headed north to Neatarts and Oceanside. Found Jacobsen Salt Factory but it is only open Fri - Sun so will visit later in the week. We went all the way to Oceanside and took a stroll on the beach.
We got back to the trailer in time to walk across the street to the Pelican Brewing Company for dinner. I had a tri- tip sandwich with fries and Len had tri-tip dinner with smashed mash potatoes and coleslaw. It was very delicious and we did bring some leftovers home for later. The view for dinner was one of the haystack rocks on the Oregon Coast. Not quite as big as the one in Canon Beach but still pretty spectacular. I will try and get a better picture in the daylight.
The brewery is right o the beach with a great outdoor patio with a real fireplace. Would be a very nice place for dinner in better weather.
