So Len and I are off on a new adventure. We had some extra points that we had to use up for our condo before they expired, so I went online and discovered the Surfside resort in Ocean Park, WA. It is located on the Northside of the mouth of the Columbia River on the Long Beach Peninsula. It is one of our older condos so the points needed to stay are really cheap. For 15,000 points we got 25 days as compared to 10 days in Seaside OR. Is is not a heavily used resort in the winter so we pretty much have the place to ourselves.
Here is a picture of the view from our balcony.

We had a fairly uneventful drive. we went through Yakima and then over the White Pass. It took about and extra half hour but we didn't get stuck in rush hour traffic going through Tacoma and Olympia.
On Tuesday we went over to Astoria over the big bridge across the Columbia River. This bridge opened in 1966 and is the longest continuous truss bridge in North America. This bridge is just over 4 miles long. It cost 24 million which is 166 million in 2022. There is an average of 7100 cars that travel it daily. The end by Astoria goes into a spiral ramp that takes you up over 200 feet so the big ships that come in from the Pacific Ocean can get under it. It was the final segment of US 101 to be completed between Olympia WA and Los Angeles CA.
This is the view from the WA side looking over at Astoria and also a video traveling along the bridge back to WA.
We did a little exploring in Astoria, we picked up some fresh vegetables and a few groceries. We are going to make sure we go back on a day that isn't raining as I want to finally eat Fish and Chips at this cool boat called the bow picker. They have Tuna fish and chips and I can't wait to try them.
So every morning I have been getting up by at least 7 am so I can go down to the fitness center and work out on the stair climber and treadmill. There is also a weight machine that I have been using. After this I head to the pool to do laps. The first two days were hard but it is getting easier everyday. A little less tiring. I am hoping to push the activity to get my knee over the last stage of recovery. I am hoping that during this time I can get the into a habit of exercising everyday.
